Beginner
1-2 years of experience.
Student: Has danced around the house and or in social settings but has never taken a dance class before or very limited previous training. Some exposure or connection to
Hip Hop/House/Dancehall/Juke/Funk Music.
GOALS: Learn the groove that is associated with the particular style of dance that is being taught. Learn how that groove affects the body. Drills of the founding steps of the particular style.
Advanced Beginner
1-3 years of experience.
Student: Have danced before in a studio setting. Understands the basics and beginner steps trying to gain more fluency.
GOALS: Learning the six basic variations of the beginner steps introduction to flow and groove. Six basic variations are step, slide, jump, forward, side, and back. Depending on the dance style, class may also have application practices.
Intermediate
4+ years of training
Student: Has danced in a studio setting and has mastered all the basic and beginner steps. Comfortable with flow and groove. Trying to master shifting of body weight and dance dynamics.
GOALS: Applying different grooves to a step. How to deconstruct steps to create your own vocabulary. Building choreography.

Advanced Intermediate:
4+ years of training
Student: Has already started developing independent style. Working on a specific style or advanced movement within that style. ie; tutting, footwork etc
GOALS: Introduction of musicality and storytelling. Students learn how to use ideas within music and maintaining the style and the groove that is indicative of the style.
